Paid Internship Opportunity!!
US Solar Institute is looking to fill several intern positions. The position(s) is intended for USSI PV-201 graduates. Bilingual interns would be preferred, but are not required. The position will require the candidate to work on gathering technical data for use in instructional design. Intern will comb through text books, technical manuals, trade magazines and other media to gather topics and content relevant for USSI’s advanced courses and workbooks. In addition to these activities, the intern will assist in writing bills of material for labs and installations. A working knowledge of BOS and Photovoltaic panels gained in PV-201 will insure the intern gains useful real on the job experience in photovoltaic engineering and contracting. The successful candidate will also work on building PV systems for use in instruction and labs. Experience with marketing and computer skills are highly desired! After a 90-day period, the position may lead to full time employment for well performing interns. Unlike most internship programs, USSI will pay an hourly wage OR interns can work towards tuition dollars to complete the US Solar Institute diploma program. Past proven experience in customer service servicing the construction market as a high value vendor and/or manufacturing is mandatory. Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Instructors
Must be well versed in solar PV systems, solar thermal systems, roofing, racking, electrical, plumbing and general construction knowledge. Applicant must be well spoken and enjoy working with and training people to become one of our Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Instructors. Must have 10 years of applicable experience with proven educational experience. Preference will be given to engineers with a PE, registered architects, NABCEP certified installer, contractor license and or ISPQ certified trainer. Position is full time.
Solar Contracting Instructors
Must have over 10 years experience in engineering consulting, specifying engineering, technical sales or plan review/building inspector. Applicant should hold a PE but consideration will be given to an EIT capable of earning their a PE license. Must understand CAD and have drafting skills. Person must be well spoken and enjoy presenting and training to a well educated audience to become one of our Solar Contracting Instructors. Preference will be given to LEED certified engineer with a PE. Position is full time.
Solar Workshop Technicians
Must be well versed in roofing, racking, electrical, solar power, solar thermal and general construction knowledge. Applicant must be well spoken and enjoy working with and training people. Must have 10 years of applicable construction experience in order to become one of our Solar Workshop Technicians. Position is contractual and will lead to full time employment complete with full benefits including medical including access to group health plans.
LEED Certified Trainers
Must be current with LEED building standards and be capable of conducting a training program for certification by the USGBC to become one of our LEED Certified Trainers. Instructor will be responsible for the development of the course and be available to train at our campus(es) throughout the State of Florida. Position is contractual and will lead to full time employment complete with full benefits including medical including access to group health plans.
Solar Educational Sales
Multiple territories to fill in FL. High energy self motivated person capable of communicating to a wide variety of potential customers, making cold calls, attending industry conferences, making presentations and closing. Must have 3 years of true professional sales experience to become one of our Solar Educational Sales Executives. The right candidate will be given a territory and will be capable of making six figures. Position is contractual and pay is performance based initially but, will lead to full time employment complete with a base salary, benefits including access to group health plans, auto allowance, expense account and bonus structure.
