US Solar Institute is excited to announce the first class of 2015, taking place at their Florida training headquarters the week of February 16. After a successful academic year of 2014, the USSI team will be starting 2015 off with PV 201, a week of hands-on solar training.

PV 201 is “Introduction to PV Design and Installation”, an intermediate solar training course. All students in the class have either already taken PV 101, US Solar’s online course “Fundamentals of Photovoltaics”, or have had some basic experience in the solar field already. PV 201 builds upon the foundation of solar training established in PV 101 and takes the PV education to the next level: hands on experience with physical solar equipment.

Past students have found the solar training in PV 201 to be a great way to jumpstart a solar career.“Everybody was very helpful.” Said Bruce, former student from Detroit, Michigan. “Every question I asked was answered and explained until I completely understood. When I need to send future employees for training in solar, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!”

The solar training course provides real-world knowledge, experience and understand of solar photovoltaics, solar energy, solar power system design, installation, and safety. The curriculum is designed to train students for one of the most important aspects of the solar industry: having the skills needed to make a living in solar.

Developed over decades of solar installation and solar training experience, PV 201 gives students the practical skills required for work in solar contracting, solar panel installation, and solar system design. Upon passing the course, PV 201 students receive the USSI PV 201 Certificate of Completion. The classroom hours for PV 201 are also eligible for use in application to sit for the NABCEP exam, if that is an avenue of certification that the student is pursuing.

Prospective student can get more information about the course on USSI’s website, or by calling USSI directly at 954-236-4577 to speak with a team member today! Seats traditionally fill up very quickly in the weeks leading to the course, so it is recommended that interested students apply to start their solar training as soon as possible to guarantee a seat.
