Starting June 21, 2011, FPL will offer Solar Energy Cash Rebates to customers who install solar water heating or photovoltaic (PV) systems in their homes and businesses. The rebates are part of a 5-year pilot program approved by the Florida Public Service Commission. Funding is limited and will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. The best prepared customers will be in the best position to reserve a rebate.

In order to be best prepared for the FPL solar rebate program, which is sure to sell out quickly, you must contact a local qualified solar installer today to begin the process.  There are only a few truly qualified installers in most areas and you need to start working with one now to become eligible for the rebate. The FPL solar rebate program will also bring a new wave of demand for solar professionals.  For people who have considered entering the solar field, the time is now!  US Solar Institute can give you the training you need to enter this rapidly growing field.

On May 31, 2011, FPL’s program standards and application process will be sent to registered users on FPL’s website for solar rebates on both residential and commercial solar systems.  Residential customers of Florida Power and Light who qualify will receive $2/watt up to $20,000 (or a 10 kilowatt system) and $150,000 (or a 150 kilowatt system) for commercial customers.

Whether you’re interested in getting a rebate for installing a solar system in your home or business, need the training to enter the solar workforce, would like to purchase a pre-engineered system, or need engineering assistance, US Solar Institute can help!  We offer:

  • Homeowner solar workshops
