Discounted Hotel Accommodations for US Solar Institute Students

We value our students and realize that most of them come a long way to attend our classes.  In order to help our students save money and to give them options, we have negotiated discounted rates at several nearby hotels.  The rates, accommodations, amenities, and transportation offerings vary, but US Solar Institute student rates are below published pricing. Here’s a breakdown of each hotel so you can choose what works best for you…

1.  Hampton Inn Ft. Lauderdale (less than 1 mile from USSI campus)

This hotel is the closest to our new location and most importantly, includes transportation to and from class.  The Hampton Inn is also centrally located in downtown Ft. Lauderdale and is about a $20 cab ride from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport.  They offer free hot breakfast, free parking, free wireless high speed internet access, evening receptions Monday-Thursday, and they are a “On the Sun” trolley stop (which is a free trolley service with stops all over downtown Ft. Lauderdale).  Downtown Ft. Lauderdale has a large selection of restaurants and shopping all within walking distance, and the Hampton Inn offers discounted pricing at select downtown restaurants.  All students have the option of either a king standard room or 2 queen beds.  Rates vary seasonally so please contact a US Solar representative for the discounted reservation links.

2. Hyatt Place (3.3 miles from USSI campus)

Hyatt Place is situated minutes from the beaches, golf courses and shops and restaurants on the nearby Harbor Shops 17^th Street, Las Olas Boulevard, Hard Rock Café and Casino, and Hollywood Boulevard. This hotel is a little farther from campus but it also gives students access to a complimentary shuttle service (3 mile radius) including Ft. Lauderdale airport. Hyatt Place offers 42” Plasma TV’s with HDTV programming, wired and wireless high speed internet,  a 24 hour business center with printing, scanning, faxing, and access to Microsoft Office and free parking too. Students can choose from a Deluxe Queen or Deluxe King room. Rates vary seasonally so please contact a US Solar representative for the discounted reservation links.

3.  B Ocean Ft. Lauderdale (2.5 miles from USSI campus)

For those of you willing to spend a little bit more to be right on the beach, this is the place!  B Ocean is about a $27 cab ride from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport and while they do not offer transportation to and from class, it’s only 2 and ½ miles from our campus.  B Ocean is a luxurious, newly renovated hotel with ocean views in every room, beach access, 2 onsite restaurants, 24 hour room service, and free wireless high speed internet access.  B Ocean is also within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping.  Hertz rental car offers discounts to B Ocean guests so if you need to rent a car, they’ve got you covered!  All students have the option of either a king standard room or double beds.  Rates vary seasonally so please contact a US Solar representative for the discounted reservation links.

4. The Chocolate Hostel Fort Lauderdale (2.7 miles from USSI campus)

The Chocolate Hostel has 13 large, furnished apartment style suites and each offers full bathrooms, living rooms,  common areas with cable tv, and full kitchens.  Students have the choice between dorms, semi private, and private rooms.  Hostel amenities inclue free internet access, laundry facility, free parking, pool, BBQ & picnic area and more. You can make reservations directly on their website or by phone. Please just list “US Solar” in the comments section online or mention us on the phone for preferred rates. They will also accommodate groups with appropriate notice.

The rates stay the same year round and the prices below include tax and are daily rates (please contact them directly for weekly and monthly rates):

• Dorms – $27.75
• Semi Private – $38.85
• Private – $57.50

4.  Extended Stay America  (3.3 miles from USSI campus)

Once a student has enrolled in the program, a welcome packet will be sent to them including a link for each hotel to receive the discounted pricing.  We have also compiled a list of alternative hotel options within 1 mile of campus, which will be sent to students as well.  Please contact hotels directly for rates and reservations.
