At the current rate of accelerated global warming, our world will be facing challenges of a magnitude that humankind has never experienced, has often denied, and has scarcely comprehended, but can create irreparable damage to our plant.  Consequences of our lingering denial, our lack of resolve, and our continued inaction will soon be evident in the rising sea levels endangering our vulnerable coastal communities.

 

By 2050 AD, sea levels globally are anticipated to rise as much as 18 feet impacting our coastal cities and their populations…

  • 2029 AD – Charleston, NC Disappears

  • 2039 AD – Jacksonville, FL Disappears
  • 2045 AD – Myrtle Beach, SC Disappears
  • 2048 AD – Savannah, GA Disappears
  • 2051 AD – Tampa, FL Disappears

These statistics are alarming and unsettling, to say the least.  At US Solar Institute we strive to make a difference every day with each student we educate about the impacts of solar energy on the environment, our internal office practices to reduce the use of paper and waste, recycling, and reducing our use of electricity.
