The other day, we announced  (Can’t Wait for the Jamaica Alternative Energy Expo? Neither Can We!) a special training and pre-order sale leading up to the Jamaica Alternative Energy Expo (held this year in Kingston from April 15th to 16th).  We decided to launch these companion deals based on feedback from a number of attendees who had already registered for the inaugural renewable energy conference.

In the hours since, we’ve received a flood of new questions and comments – enough that we decided to expand the offerings and provide a few more details in the form of 2 big announcements.

Here they are in quick succession:

Announcement #1: Back-to-Back USSolar PV401 Courses in Jamaica

Starting on April 17 through May 5, USSolar Institute will be conducting several back-to-back PV401 courses in Jamaica in the weeks following the Alternative Energy Expo.

For those of you unfamiliar with USSolar PV401, it is our Advanced Field Training course in which you help “design, build, install, commission, program, and maintain photovoltaic power systems” over the course of 40 intensive hours.

Usually offered from our Fort Lauderdale campus, this advanced course is being offered in Jamaica for the very first time.  However, note that USSolar PV401 is only reserved for students who have already completed:

Spots are limited for this unique opportunity, so contact us ASAP to reserve your place today.

Because this module is based around real-world training, you’ll receive hands-on experience with live installations in and around Kingston.

But where exactly? This leads into the second part of our big announcement….

Announcement #2: Pre-Expo Sales & Installations

As mentioned in the earlier post (Can’t Wait for the Jamaica Alternative Energy Expo? Neither Can We!) USSolar is offering pre-Expo sales of its 5kW SolarEdge systems.  These exclusive JPS-approved packages have been customized for Jamaica’s unique climate.  Again, stock is limited, so be sure to purchase your system ASAP.

How does the sale and installation process work exactly?

  • After completing the purchase, qualified customers will receive a free site inspection during the week of March 18 – conducted by USSolar Institute President, Ray Johnson
  • During these on-site inspections, US Solar will collect 50% deposits for the installation.
  • All of these packages will ship to Jamaica before the Expo – although we will also have a select number of SolarEdge units available for immediate purchase at the Expo itself.
  • The installations will begin after April 17 (after the Jamaica Alternative Energy Expo) through May 5.  Those who qualify for USSolar PV401 will work side-by-side with our expert team installing these systems under real-world conditions.

Note that preferential treatment goes to those who have pre-ordered SolarEdge systems in advance.  However, if capacity allows, we may increase the number of solar PV systems we install during this time period.  If you know of anyone interested in having the best equipment made by the best manufacturers installed by the best team in the Caribbean, please refer them to us, and we’ll add them to our waiting list.

And of course, if you haven’t already, be sure to register for the Jamaica Alternative Energy Expo.  This 2-day event is a great opportunity to learn more about solar, make new friends, and help take part in a solar revolution that promises to forever alter Jamaica’s energy future.
