USSolar has recently unveiled a new site dedicated to Jamaican solar panels, PV installation training, and solar engineering services.

Fort Lauderdale, FL – June 26, 2013 – Florida-based solar installation training college and PV parts distributor, USSolar, has recently introduced an online portal targeted exclusively towards Jamaica’s burgeoning solar energy market.

USSolar Launches Online Portal for Jamaica Solar Panels !

With the launch of Solar.com.JM, USSolar hopes to address 2 of the most critical challenges facing the island nation’s solar industry – namely Jamaica’s lack of reliable solar panels and the country’s insufficient PV installation training infrastructure.

During phase 1 of this launch, USSolar’s primary goal is to ensure that Jamaica has access to affordable solar panels that have been carefully designed and rigorously tested for the Caribbean climate.

According to President and Lead Instructor, Ray Johnson, “The country is brimming with potential, but most of the solar panels that Jamaica imports break down within the first 2 years.”  He adds, “We’ve customized our solar PV systems for Jamaica’s high velocity hurricane winds, semi-equatorial sunshine, and year-round salty humidity.”

USSolar has already begun stocking local inventory to reduce wait times for Jamaican businesses and homeowners eager to install their solar panels before hurricane season arrives.  The company has tapped Chad Ad Distributors of New Port West to handle retail sales, while wholesale buyers can purchase these Jamaican solar panels directly from the newly launched site.

In phase 2, USSolar will expand its Department of Education-licensed solar PV installation courses by providing on-site training within Jamaica.  Although scores of Jamaican students regularly fly to USSolar’s Fort Lauderdale campus to receive training, this steady trickle is not sufficient for meeting unprecedented demand.

“In the past year, Jamaica has introduced several exciting solar initiatives, including a new net billing program,” comments Johnson.  “By offering courses within the country, we can help Jamaica keep pace with residential and commercial demand for qualified, certified solar installers.”
