Fort Lauderdale (November 2014)
US Solar Institute (USSI) continues to be on the cutting edge of premier solar training with newly expanded online offerings. The online courses are getting a facelift in a new, upgraded, mobile-friendly online platform. Students enrolled into USSI will now receive a login to their personal learning portal. The portal has been redesigned to be more user friendly and intuitive.
“We have seen that students are increasingly accessing online content with their phones and tablets.” Said Ray Johnson, Founder of US Solar Institute. “This new design embraces the trend of mobile learning and allows students to learn regardless of their device.”
In an initial beta testing period, the updated learning platform received a lot of positive feedback from its first users. The new appearance received high ratings, and the ability to login from a mobile device was widely appreciated. One student who had a great experience with the new platform is actually an electrician for a band currently on tour. The new platform allows him to get quality solar training while traveling to the band’s next show. “Thank you for bringing the course material to a mobile-friendly platform!” he said. “This is a great improvement and I really appreciate the efforts of everyone at USSI.”
PV101, the fundamentals of solar training, is the first course to be fully developed on this new platform. For students looking for top quality solar training in the ever-expanding renewable energy market, PV101 is the perfect first step. The online solar training course features 10-15 hours of material and quizzes covering topics such as the fundamentals of electricity and circuits, energy market factors, types of solar energy systems, solar vocabulary, safety, on-grid versus off-grid considerations, equipment terminology, and the important history of solar energy. Students are able to go through the material at their own pace, review concepts that they want to spend more time on, and login whenever and where they want.
One student who is working towards a career in solar shared his feedback on the updated solar training program: “I really enjoyed the course and am looking forward to working in the solar industry!”
