FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—On August 1, 2011, US Solar is relocating to a larger facility located just south of Sunrise Boulevard at 913 NE 4th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304.  The building is located in the downtown Ft. Lauderdale area and is being transformed into a new state of the art solar education center and corporate offices for both US Solar Institute and Florida Solar One.

The new facility, just 6 miles from Fort Lauderdale International Airport and 2 ½ miles from the beach, is a sprawling 6,782 square feet of standalone commercial building space. It has larger classrooms and lab areas to accommodate more students while providing the most advanced hands-on learning environment in solar education. The new location will also have an eco-friendly model home that will be used as a showroom and for facilitated instruction. Further enhancements to the facility include an organic and sustainable garden, regular farmers markets, and use of solar thermal with the assistance of FPL’s $10,000 rebate granted to US Solar Institute.

At the new Ft. Lauderdale facility, intended to be a LEED Platinum Certified building, US Solar Institute plans to offer more solar training classes, consumer solar education workshops, continuing education courses for professionals and government officials, PV installer certifications for electricians, and solar seminars open to the public.  Partner company, Florida Solar One, will also be sharing the new facility as US Solar’s in-house solar contractor serving all of South Florida, the Caribbean, and West Indies.  Together, US Solar Institute and Florida Solar One are working with Ft. Lauderdale’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) to help revitalize Ft. Lauderdale with the new the eco-friendly facility.

The US Solar Institute provides students with a quality, professional solar education in order to pursue a variety of endeavors within the solar industry. For more information, visit www.USSolarInstitute.com.
