So we’re still a good 30 days away from the first annual US Solar Jamaican Alternative Energy Expo – an exciting 2-day event that promises to revolutionize the Caribbean solar market as investors, banks, politicians, manufacturers, installers, and ordinary citizens descend on the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston from April 15th to 16th.

Although we have a lot to accomplish during the Expo, our main goal is to design a roadmap so that Jamaica can more effectively harness its abundant (and free) natural resources as it transitions to a more sustainable economy.  Networking opportunities will abound – as will learning seminars, Q&As, and a dizzying array of exhibitions from around the globe.

See our earlier post on what to expect.

Needless to say, we at USSolar Institute  are really excited about this event.  It’s the first renewable energy conference of this size and scope to ever take place in sunny Jamaica.More important than our own enthusiasm is the excitement displayed by a growing number of attendees and exhibitors who have already registered.  Still a month and a half away, we’ve begun receiving inquiries about potential training opportunities and solar equipment purchasing.

We asked ourselves – “why make you wait?”

So we decided to launch 2 exciting pre-Expo deals for those of you who are clamoring for more, more, more.

Announcement #1 – Expo Pre-Sale

If you order today, you can pick up your pre-packaged Jamaican-ready SolarEdge system at the show at deeply discounted (starting at only $7,995) show only prices.  These Jamaican Power Service (JPS) compliant 5,000 watt turn-key packaged systems are specifically designed for the Caribbean climate, meaning they’re able to withstand erratic hurricane winds and salty humidity – conditions that typically destroy the majority of solar PV components on the market.

I can’t stress this point enough.  We’ve tested literally hundreds of products for our own projects in Florida, the Bahamas, and Jamaica – and SolarEdge is one of the few that continues delivering peak performance under the harsh conditions outlined above.

We’ve made further refinements to these units to ensure that they’re permit-compliant and approved for Jamaica’s local utility grid.

So if you’ve already made the decision to go solar and don’t want to wait until after the Expo to order, click here and reserve your SolarEdge system today.

Announcement #2 – Pre-Expo Solar PV Training

As you probably know (if you read this blog regularly), we try to make it down to Jamaica as often as possible to lead:

  • solar PV seminars and Q&As
  • policy and regulatory workshops
  • installation training modules

In addition, we also accept scores of students from Jamaica throughout the year who fly to Florida, sit for our PV installation training, and then take their newly acquired skills back home to launch lucrative careers in the solar industry.

If you’ve missed any of our Fort Lauderdale sessions or periodic visits to Jamaica, don’t despair.

We’ll be coming in advance of this year’s Jamaica Alternative Energy Expo for a special 1-day training session to help familiarize you with some of the technology we use (including SolarEdge for those of you who pre-order).

On April 15th – 16th, from 8am to 5pm, come join us at the Pegaus in Kingston, Jamaica.  The show, information and training sessions are open to all.  Bring questions, friends, and a willingness to have some fun.

We certainly hope to see you on the following 2 days at the US Solar Jamaica Alternative Energy Expo – or better yet – at one of our installation training courses in Fort Lauderdale held throughout the year.
